Dashboard - Profit & Loss - option for settings to have accruals as default vs cash

My accounts are set up as "accrual" but the dashboard profit and loss default is "cash" and I have to change to "accrual" manually myself from the drop down on the dashboard. Could we have the option somewhere in settings to permanently set this as accruals first (or cash) as it's annoying seeing irrelevant figures for cash each time on the dashboard for anyone that is set up for accrual.
